Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On behalf of Cardinal Sean, Thank You for standing together in the Lord with us. Please see below a photo of Monday’s meeting (credit Gregory L. Tracy, The Pilot).
ACTION ITEMS: Educate and Mobilize.
Educate: the ROE Bill number H3320/ S1209 in the Mass. Legislature.
– allows a child of any age under 18 to get an abortion without telling their parents or court (S1209, Section 3)
– in practice allows abortion up to the time of birth. (S1209, Section 2, third paragraph using Doe v. Bolton language)
– allows a baby who survives an abortion to be left without food or water until dead. It removes the demand for care (S1209, Section 2, by repealing MGL ch.112, s.12P – for more discussion on why physicians are allowed to let the baby die from exposure, click here).
Mobilize: we all need to contact our legislators to say ROE Bill numberH3320/S1209 in the Mass. Legislature is extreme and unacceptable and must be rejected.
– if you seek a legislation commentary guide here is one; NOTE PLEASE: This preparation is not by the Archdiocese but is by an independent organization, Mass. Family Institute: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7k1l7bj4n7pm5ql/S1209%20-%20Acts%20to%20Increase%20Abortions%20-%20Statute%20Commentary.pdf?dl=0
You may wish to be aware there was a rally on this bill over the weekend, and stories in the Globe today and on WBUR. The bill is now out in the public more than ever.Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters dwell together in unity (Ps. 133), isn’t it?
Sincerely yours in the prayer and work for Christian unity,
